TULSA, OK – Dozens of miles traveled, 32 shows all over Green Country and over a billion laughs served (give or take a few), Tulsa’s Comedy Troupe, The Comedy Clinic, returns to Brookside for its 3rd Anniversary celebration on Saturday, November 5th Tulsa's finest Martini Lounge and Champagne Bar, The Suede Ultra Lounge. Showtime is 7:30.

Now in their 4th season, these Medics of Madness have been showcasing decades of theater and comedy experience in their live show, which has been described as Saturday Night Live meets Whose Line is it Anyway. Tulsans Ben Beckham and Jeff Turner founded the group along with charter member and Bartlesville native Maria Swindell in 2002 after the three worked together in the Obnoxious Party Guests.

Beckham and Turner have known each other since high school where they were class clowns at midtown’s Edison High School, while Swindell honed her craft as a theater major in college. Prior to the start of the group’s second season, the group called upon another Edison graduate, Antoine Wilson, who became the group’s longest standing fourth member.

“We’ve had several other stage players perform with us since we started, mainly in the first season,” said Turner, a marketing developer for a local manufacturing company. “But really, when Antoine joined the group, an ensemble of three easily turned into an ensemble of four and we have really worked well together.”

Brookside’s Physicians of Fun, as they have been called, while funny, have yet to quit their day jobs. While Turner markets for his company, Beckham is an IT Liaison for a Global Petrochemical Engineering and Construction company, Wilson works in the Health Care Insurance industry and Swindell works for a non profit health care organization.

“Maria is in charge of making us all feel guilty, “ chimes Beckham. The Comedy Clinic’s hilarious ORIGINAL sketches will be followed by their hysterical improv games, which include audience participation. The Comedy Clinic gives fans a local flavor in their sketch comedy, the likes of which won't be seen on television or anywhere else in Tulsa.

This gang of Comedy Doctors are no strangers to the comedy and entertainment scene in Green Country. These local improv veterans have made the rounds all over the northeastern part of the state creating laughter all the way to Bartlesville and beyond.

“It’s been great for me going home and showing all my fiends what I do here in Tulsa,” Swindell says of the Clinic’s trips to Bartlesville.

Wilson describes it as being like rock stars.

“It’s like we’re on tour, without the roadies, groupies and girls. Lots of shows though”

Lots of shows indeed. And so, for their 3rd anniversary, The Comedy Clinic will perform their 33rd show. As they say, funny comes in threes. Advance tickets are $8 or $10 at the door. Advance tickets must be purchased by Friday, November 4th, 2005. Tickets are available for purchase online, as well, with Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
