COMEDY CLINIC SETS SEASON FINALE AT JEWEL, APRIL 25th
Your last chance to laugh until next fall with Tulsa’s Comedy Troupe, The Comedy
Clinic, will be April 25th, 2009, at Jewel (3340 S. Peoria) as the Medics of
Madness close out their seventh season of hilarity. Season finale show time is
8pm, doors open at 7pm.
Brookside’s Physicians of Fun, also known as local improv veterans Ben Beckham,
Maria Gus and Jeff Turner , will continue to break out fan favorite improv games
as well as the newly introduced games this season, all of which include audience
participation. Their magical on stage chemistry and local brand of
improvisational comedy has dubbed them Tulsa’s own version of Whose Line Is It
Anyway?
New improv games received enthusiastic approval from recent energetic audiences,
like the packed Jewel crowd in February. Comedy Clinic player Ben Beckham says
sprinkling in new games keeps it fresh for not just the audience, but for the
players, too.
“Part of the fun is challenging yourself and if you don’t do that, you lose the
edge,” according to Beckham. “Take Jeff for instance, we challenged him to go
streaking before the last show and he was great! It wasn’t pretty, though. It
never is. ”
All joking aside (until April 25th, that is), The Comedy Clinic not only saw the
addition of fun, new games to play with fans, but the return to their original
home at 3340 S. Peoria (then called Suede).
“We were ecstatic when the renovations for Jewel were complete and they asked us
back,” said Turner.
Gus was also excited to return to Brookside for season seven.
“There were so many great people and fun places between Suede and Jewel for us,
but Brookside is home and Jewel has been so great to us,” Gus said. “Can’t wait
until season eight!”
But before season eight can start, The Comedy Clinic will close out season seven
at home on April 25th at 8pm and you are invited to come over and play.
Advance tickets are $9 or $10 at the door. Advance tickets must be purchased by
Friday, April 24th, 2009. Tickets are available for purchase online, as well,
with Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. For individual or group
ticket information, call (918) 928-7161, email info@thecomedyclinic.com or visit
